crash points forward, opening up a new interdisciplinary space through the heuristic possibilities of software abstracting. crash may be viewed from polyvalent perspectives and is not limited to the computational nor the current discourse permeating new media/digital work. crash begins with a day long symposium forcing for a new discursive and febrile space by parallaxing through the hermetics of software/code art, marking breakpoints with humanist ontologies, linking auto-destructive art, quantum physics and extruded software abstraction.
crash symposium
[chaired by graham
harwood] will
examine issues such as black hole computing, collapsed layers of abstraction,
simulation and reality bindings, interface and OS, and auto-destructive
art in the context of crashing with presentations from researchers in
the fields of software, physics, art, including florian cramer, stewart
home, otto roessler, lisa jevbratt, arthur moore, sunny bains, dick bierman,
martin howse and jonathan kemp. |
